Winter in Salt Lake City

Posted in Films on January 20, 2010 by Ron Risman

This film combines a lot of what I have learned over the past year with regard to filming, time-lapse, and editing from many talented cinematographers and filmmakers.

The segments were captured from December 27th through January 3rd, 2010 and includes scenes from Big Cottonwood Canyon, Park City, Eagle Mountain, Temple Square, and the Le Caille restaurant, a french chateau on 22 acres with wild animals, owner residence, and a couple of cottages that are used for weddings and private guests.

Timelapse: Little Snowblower, Big Driveway

Posted in Films on January 20, 2010 by Ron Risman

It takes 20 minutes to clear my driveway using my under powered snowblower. Thanks to this timelapse it will only take you 10 seconds to watch me.

The timelapse was created by switching the camera to manual code and setting the shutter to 4-seconds and the aperture to f/5. I wanted to blur my motion as I cleared the drive but I also wanted to make the night scene much brighter. These settings helped with that.
